Did you know that approximately 5 – 7% of US teenagers will experience an episode of homelessness this year*? Roughly half of these youth have fled abusive situations, and many face additional challenges, such as addiction issues, unintended pregnancy, mental health disabilities, and depression.
Unfortunately, there are very limited resources for the nearly 1.7 million teenagers that are living on the streets today. Only a few shelters cater to serving the youth, and income-earning options for minors are sparse. To complicate matters, many of these youth are not able to continue their schooling, which could hinder their opportunities for the future.
